Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 12 October 2009 – The morning of Day Four and the Final Day of Beauty9 Expo was filled with the passion of students and senior hair professionals during the Hair Malaysia 2009 competition, a continuation from the junior and open category competition carried out on Friday 9 October 2009.

Senior contestants underwent challenges which encompassed hairstyling, coloring, trendy cutting, designing bridal hair style individually and in groups whilst the students were tested on their cut and coloring skills and elegant evening hairstyle designs.

Contestants awed the judges with their skills in their respective categories. For the Student category, the overall winner was Michelle Poon Sow Ming. But the day really belonged to Teddy Cheah Khai Shing who picked up four awards; Winner and Color Trophy for not only the Senior Ladies Combination Tests but also for the Senior Ladies Individual Tests and was crowned the Overall Senior Category winner. He and Tom Yek Teng Siong, the Overall Senior Category First Runner-Up will be heading to Hong Kong on 11-13 November 2009 to compete at the Babylisspro on Stage Asian Competition.

Apart from Hair Malaysia 2009, many trade visitors also came to attend the education sessions, including the seminar entitled “How to Increase your Beauty Salon Sales” where speakers shared on human resource issues, salary-commission structure setting and approaches to increase salon sales.

Over the past four days, Beauty9 Expo has attracted over 24,000 visitors. These visitors have not only been exposed to the myriad of top-to-toe beauty and wellness products, their minds have also been expanded through the education zones with new knowledge acquired on various aspects of the beauty and wellness industry.

“We are very happy with Beauty9 Expo and we are already looking forward to Beauty10 Expo in 2010.
