Notes for Travelers Entering Malaysia

– The use of face masks is no longer mandatory indoors as of 7 September 2022. It is still encouraged to wear face masks in crowded places.

– Wearing a face mask is still mandatory on public transportation on buses, trains, planes taxis, e-hailing vehicles as well as at hospitals and medical institutions. This also applies to those who are symptomatic and Covid-19 positive.

– Those who do not comply with the ruling may be issued with a RM1,000 compound notice under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 or prosecuted in court.
