IMHC Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

  1. ‘Competition’ means the International Mastery Hair Competition (IMHC) at the Event;
  2. ‘Contestant’ means a participant in the Competition;
  3. ‘Event’ or ‘BECBM 2024’ means beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2024;
  4. ‘Organisers’ means Informa Markets Malaysia Sdn Bhd;
  5. ‘Venue’ means Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

 

2. Eligibility

  1. The competition is open to all local and international hairdressers.
  2. All Contestants must be 16 years old and above. Any Contestant who is under the age of 18 years old is required to obtain the consent of their parents or guardians to participate in this Competition.

 

3. Entry Submission

  1. All eligible Contestants should register their participation via Online Registration Form (https://forms.gle/fRVc2YHdUyedbxEP6) and submit by 13 September, 2024 at 11:59 PM Malaysian Standard Time.
  2. The competition is limited to a total of 70 Contestants, with a maximum of 50 Contestants for the Rising Star Category and 20 Contestants for the Creative Wizards Category. Once the quota is full for each competition, the registration link for that competition will be closed. Competition will be based on 2 categories: *both categories are individual participation
    Rising Star
    – Competition duration: 30 minutes
    – Theme: Cut & Colour

    Creative Wizards
    – Competition duration: 1 hour
    – Theme: Bridal in Mystery Box concept

  3. Registration fees as below:
    Rising Star                   : RM 100 / USD 25
    Creative Wizards        : RM 300 / USD 65
    All registration fees are non-refundable.

  4. Contestants will be notified via WhatsApp with respect to their joining instructions.

 

4. General Rules of the Competition

  1. Contestants and their models are required to attend the Event at the Venue on 5th October 2024  for the Competition & Competition Award Ceremony. Contestants and their models must check in at the registration counter at Hall 1 no later than the assigned start time.
  2. Contestants must be dressed in a presentable way during the competition. Models must wear white top and black bottom, gown is not necessary.
  3. Contestants are required to keep their phones on silent at all times.
  4. Contestants are required to bring their own tools, electrical equipment and universal adapter, which must comply with all Malaysian voltage standards.  All equipment will be checked onsite before it is permitted to be used.   Decision of the Organiser is final in all cases.
  5. Only one (1) electrical outlet is provided for each Contestant and only one piece of electrical equipment may be connected at a time. Multi-plug adapters/power boards are not permitted.
  6. Hair Do Rules & Regulations

i. Before the competition starts:
– Model’s hair may be set/ blow dried/ natural and be left loose.
– All styling products and tools (such as hair clips, hairpins, bobby pins, etc) are allowed to use. Glue gun is allowed to be used to fix/adjust the accessories given. 
– Accessories inside the mystery box provided by the Organiser can use either one (1) or all, depends on your creativity.
ii. Colour: The use of all colours is free and must be pre-done. No colour sprays are permitted.
iii. Styling products and tools: All styling products and tools are allowed, subject to the requirements set out in these terms and conditions.

 

5. Judging Criteria

a.      Rising Star
·       Colour Combination: 30%
·       Blending & Neatness: 15%
·       Styling: 15%
·       Creativity: 40%

b.     Creative Wizards
·       Colour Combination: 20%
·       Blending & Neatness: 30%
·       Concept & Theme: 10%
·       Creativity: 40%

c.    Winners will be determined by the panel of Judges and will be at their sole discretion. The judges’ decision is final.

d.    Prize winners will be announced on 5th October, 2024 at the Event at the Award Ceremony. 

 

6. Prizes

  1. Six (6) Winners will be selected with prizes being awarded as follows:
    Rising Star
    ·       Champion                     : RM 1,500 + Certificate + Trophy + Educational Course Worth RM 6,000 **
    ·       1st Runner Up              : RM 1,000 + Certificate + Trophy+ Educational Course Worth RM 6,000**
    ·       2nd Runner Up            : RM 800 + Certificate + Trophy+ Educational Course Worth RM 6,000**

    Creative Wizards
    ·       Champion                     : RM 2,000 + Certificate + Trophy
    ·       1st Runner Up              : RM 1,500 + Certificate + Trophy
    ·       2nd Runner Up            : RM 1,000 + Certificate + Trophy

 

*Top two (2) winners of the Creative Wizards category (ONLY Malaysian) will represent Malaysia to compete at The 28th APHCA Cambodia – Asia Pacific Hair, Make-up and Beauty Olympics 2024 on 15 to 16 October 2024.

**Educational Course will be provided by Midan. Winners are entitled to invite members from their academy, salon, or company, ensuring that individuals with decision-making authority attend the course

  1. Contestants are required to attend the Prize Ceremony at the Event Venue on 5th October in person. Non-attendance will result in automatic disqualification.
  2. Prizes are non-transferable, must be used on the specified dates (where applicable), and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  3. If a winner chooses not to accept a prize or is subsequently disqualified, they forfeit any and all claims to that prize, which will be managed at the absolute discretion of the Organisers. In the event of disqualification, the Organisers may, at their sole discretion, decide whether to select a replacement winner.
  4. All prizes are used/taken entirely at the risk of the winner, and the Organisers exclude all warranties in connection with any prize to the extent permitted by law.
  5. If a specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the Organisers reserve the right to substitute a similar prize or one of equivalent value at any time without prior notice.  All cash prizes will be made via bank transfer. The winner will be required to provide their bank account details for the transaction process. Organisers will not be responsible for any errors or delays in the bank transfer process.
  6. Winners agree to be contacted by the Organisers or their authorised representatives to participate in public relations events aimed at generating press coverage of the Competition, Event, prizes, and/or their use or enjoyment.
  7. Organisers reserve the right to withhold any prize awarded pending verification of the Contestant’s compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

 

7. Liability

  1. By entering the Competition, Contestants warrant that all information submitted by them is true, accurate and complete.
  2. All Contestants agree to allow the details of their entry to be shared with the judges and representatives of the Organisers. Contestants will be deemed to have consented to the transfer and sharing of their personal data and information for the purpose of administration and judging of the Competition and any other purposes to which the Contestant has consented.   3. The judges and the Organisers reserve the right at their absolute discretion to disqualify any entry deemed to be incomplete, inaccurate, inaudible, incomprehensible, false or misleading.
  4. The judges’ decision will be final, and no explanation, correspondence, or discussion will be offered or entered into before or following the judges’ decision. Feedback will not be given on any entry before or following the judges’ decision.
  5. Contestants will be solely responsible for obtaining any visas or permits to Malaysia to attend the Event, as well as for all costs and expenses involved in their participation in the Competition.
  6. Organisers reserve the right at their absolute discretion to alter or reschedule the Competition, the Event and/or to change the judging panel and/or to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time and without notice.
  7. Contestants expressly assume all risks associated with, resulting from or arising in connection with participation in the Competition and attendance at the Event. All indemnities, warranties, representations, terms and conditions (whether express or implied) except as set out herein and/or as may be otherwise expressly advised are hereby excluded. Organisers and their affiliates Group (as well as any employees or other representatives of the same) exclude all liability for any loss, injury, disease or damage whatsoever that you may suffer in connection with or arising from the Competition and/or attendance at the Event whether direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive loss, injury or damage (including, without limitation, injury or disease to persons, property damage, theft, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss or corruption of data or any other type of economic loss, injury or damage) or otherwise. The limitations and exclusions in this paragraph only apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  8. All Contestants agree to indemnify Organisers against all costs, claims, damages and expenses that Organisers may suffer or incur as a result of, or in connection with, any breach of these Terms & Conditions.
  9. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions will result in automatic disqualification.
  10. Contestants grant Organisers a non-exclusive, royalty free, irrevocable, worldwide license to use and reproduce (i) all content submitted by them for the Competition, (ii) all images, videos and other media recorded by Organisers or their representatives at the Event, and (iii) their name, in each case for the marketing and promotion of the Competition, and for the commercial promotion of Organisers and any Organisers business. Photography and filming by Organisers’ representatives will take place during the Event, including the Award Ceremony. Contestants acknowledge and accept that Organisers may record, photograph, film and broadcast (via print, electronic means and internet) any image or film footage taken during the Event, including the Award Ceremony.
  11. Organisers are not responsible for the policies, actions, or inactions of others, which might prevent Contestant from entering or participating in the Competition and/or claiming any prize in the Competition.

 

8. General

  1. By entering the Competition, Contestants will be deemed to have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and be bound by them.
  2. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Malaysia and all disputes hereunder shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
